Payscale Details (Post wise)
Here are the payscale details for the various positions in the NTPC recruitment:
DGM (E7 Level):
- Pay Scale: Rs. 1,00,000 – Rs. 2,60,000
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA/Company Accommodation, Medical facilities, PRP, Group Insurance, Terminal Benefits, etc., as per company rules.
Manager (E5 Level):
- Pay Scale: Rs. 80,000 – Rs. 2,20,000
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA/Company Accommodation, Medical facilities, PRP, Group Insurance, Terminal Benefits, etc., as per company rules.
Deputy Manager (E4 Level):
- Pay Scale: Rs. 70,000 – Rs. 2,00,000
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA/Company Accommodation, Medical facilities, PRP, Group Insurance, Terminal Benefits, etc., as per company rules.
Assistant Manager (E3 Level):
- Pay Scale: Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 1,80,000
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA/Company Accommodation, Medical facilities, PRP, Group Insurance, Terminal Benefits, etc., as per company rules.
Executive on Fixed Term Basis:
- Consolidated Salary: Rs. 90,000 per month
- Additional Benefits: HRA/Company Accommodation, Retention Benefit, Medical facility for self, spouse, dependent parents, and two children.
These positions come with additional allowances and benefits as per NTPC’s policies and rules.

Educational Qualifications
For all positions, the candidate must be a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). A Membership Certificate and Final Marksheet issued by ICSI are required as proof.
Experience Requirements:
DGM (E7 Level) – 1 Post:
- Experience Requirement:
- For candidates currently working in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings: Minimum 16 years of post-qualification experience (including minimum 4 years in a listed company) in the executive cadre in the relevant area. At least 3 years’ experience in the post and scale of Rs. 90,000-2,40,000 (IDA pay scale of E6 grade or above).
- For candidates currently working in Private Sector: Minimum 16 years of post-qualification experience (including minimum 4 years in a listed company) in the executive cadre in the relevant area.

Additional Notes:
- Candidates from Govt./Public Sector Undertakings need to submit documents showing the minimum years of service in the prescribed scale.
- For candidates from the Private Sector, the candidate should submit Form 16 related to Income Tax Return for the last 3 financial years.
Mode Of Selection
The selection for the posts will be done through the following process:
Application Shortlisting:
- Candidates will first be screened based on the details provided in their applications. Shortlisting will be based on the eligibility criteria, such as qualification, experience, etc.
Written/Computer-Based Test (if required):
- If there are many eligible applicants, the company reserves the right to conduct a written exam or computer-based test to further shortlist candidates for the interview process.
Personal Interview:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The interview will assess the candidate’s professional knowledge, communication skills, experience, and other relevant abilities.
Document Verification:
- Candidates selected for the interview will need to provide original documents for verification. This includes educational qualifications, work experience, category certificates (if applicable), and other necessary documents.
Final Selection:
- The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview and document verification process. The selected candidates will be offered the position.
Exam Pattern (if applicable):
If a written or computer-based test is conducted, the exam pattern may typically include:
Type of Exam: Multiple choice questions (MCQs) or Objective-type questions.
Topics Covered:
- General Knowledge: Basic awareness of current events, important national and international facts.
- Aptitude and Reasoning: Logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation.
- Professional Knowledge: Questions related to the Company Secretary field, such as Company Law, Corporate Governance, Securities Laws, etc.
Duration of the Exam: Typically, the duration could be 2-3 hours, depending on the number of questions and the format.
Negative Marking: There might be a negative marking for wrong answers (usually around 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer), but this will be confirmed by NTPC once the exam is announced.

Here are the documents required for NTPC Company Secretary recruitment:
- Class X Passing Certificate/Marksheet (for Name and Date of Birth proof)
- Photograph of the Candidate
- Aadhar Card and PAN Card
- Membership Certificate and Final Marksheet issued by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
- Under Graduation/Post Graduation Degree (if applicable) – Consolidated Marksheet/Transcript/all semester marksheets/Degree indicating aggregate % of marks in all semesters
- Caste/Disability Certificate (For SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWBD/EWS candidates) as applicable
- OBC-NCL Certificate should be in central format for the current financial year (FY 2024-25)
- EWS Certificate based on the Income & Asset certificate for FY 2023-24 in the prescribed format
- Disability Certificates generated online through the Swavalamban/UDID portal, showing type & percentage of disability
- Documents in Support of Relevant Experience (Experience certificates, appointment letter, offer letter, promotion order, transfer order, service certificate, relieving letter, pay slips)
